Chloë McPolin loves a workout class, but with the South Dublin health and wellness devotees among her classmates, she knows she need to work that bit harder

Hobby comrades, we know I love nothing more than an overpriced workout class. So when I heard Barry’s bootcamp had landed in Dublin this year, I was eager to have a nose. The brand has long cemented itself as the fitness institution across the pond for people looking to get absolutely jacked. I’m not necessarily chasing abs, but I was curious to see what the hype was about.
To the Boomers out there wondering what on earth Barry’s bootcamp is? It’s an infamous high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that celebs like Kim Kardashian and Posh and Becks rave about. Each class lasts about 60 minutes and will set you back €26. Half of the class is treadmill based, alternating between a light jog and sprints, the other half is weights focused. I read in Cosmopolitan that it’s meant to be a real slog – sign me up.
